So I've been thinking today about all the things that happened this year! It has been quite eventful! I have so many things to be grateful for! Two precious little girls and a very loving husband! My life has change drastically over the past 6 months and I could not be more happy about it!
So this year in review......
Well lets see... I made some lifelong friends! Lindsey, Jessi, Hannah!! For you three I'm very grateful and I can always depend on my "sisters" to be there for me! I've lost a few friends too. I've rebuilt a relationship with my oldest sister and that in itself is somewhat of a miracle! I'm really enjoying getting to know her and we have a great friendship!
I'm learning how to let go of some not so great habits and picking up some great ones. I'm learning Spanish and playing the violin again.
I went on the trip of my life to minister medical care to the poor, poverty ridden area of Rio Grande, Nicaragua. This trip in itself pretty much changed my life. I'm more patient and not so demanding of things anymore. I don't have to have everything I want! Also while I was there a deep desire to work with children and teach them about Jesus formed in my heart! I jumped off a cliff into a river and swam upstream into a waterfall with the Nicaraguan children! I became convicted that I can do more for people, I became more compassionate to needs!
I quit my job, to take care of my children. I can always find ways to make money, but I'm not going to compromise my relationship with my children for money. They're only little once and I already feel like I missed out on so much by not being there. I also had to overcome my workaholicness! ha ha... I can honestly say for about the first two months I felt somewhat lost because, my job had been my security blanket for so many years! Something I could always count on being there! While I miss all my friends and MEA family I do not miss working now! ha ha! Now I find myself being that mom that bakes the cookies, goes to the school parties, and gets to be home to get my daughter off the school bus! I wouldn't trade it for any amount of money!
There are many more things that are so important to me that happened this year! This has been a year of ups and downs! But the ups far outweigh the downs!
I hope 2009 is a fantastic year!
Happy New Year to everyone!
